Miriam Skydell and Associates, LLC is a New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE)–approved agency providing comprehensive, school-based therapeutic and evaluative services to public school districts, charter schools, private schools, and approved private special-education programs throughout the state of New Jersey.

Since 1993, we have partnered with districts to deliver compliant, high-quality services to students with IEPs and 504 Plans, supporting functional skill development, educational access, and student success within the school environment.

Occupational Therapy (OT)

Our licensed Occupational Therapists provide school-based services designed to support students’ ability to participate effectively in academic and daily school activities.

OT services may address:

• Fine motor and visual-motor skills
• Sensory processing and regulation
• Handwriting and pre-writing skills
• Self-care and school routines
• Postural control, strength, and endurance
• Classroom organization and participation

Services are provided through 1:1 direct therapy, small-group therapy, inclusion services, pull-out sessions, classroom consultation, and teacher education, in accordance with each student’s IEP or 504 Plan.

Physical Therapy (PT)

Our Physical Therapists assist students in accessing their educational environment by improving mobility, balance, strength, and functional movement.

PT services may address:

• Gross motor development
• Balance, coordination, and endurance
• Gait training and functional mobility
• Postural alignment
• Adaptive and assistive equipment recommendations
• Environmental accessibility within the school setting

Services are delivered through direct therapy, inclusion, consultation, and collaboration with school staff, as outlined in the student’s IEP.

Speech-Language Pathology (SLP)

Our Speech-Language Pathologists support communication skills essential for academic learning and social participation.

SLP services may address:

• Expressive and receptive language
• Articulation and phonological processing
• Pragmatic and social language skills
• Fluency
• Voice
• Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), when appropriate

Services are provided via individual therapy, small-group intervention, classroom-based support, consultation, and evaluations, aligned with IEP and 504 goals.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Services

Our BCBAs provide behavior-analytic services to support positive student outcomes and effective classroom participation.

BCBA services include:

• Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA)
• Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) development and monitoring
• Data collection and progress analysis
• Staff training and consultation
• Collaboration with child study teams, teachers, and families

All services are delivered using evidence-based practices and in compliance with IDEA and NJDOE regulations.

Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant (LDTC) Services

Our LDTCs provide comprehensive evaluative and consultative services as part of the New Jersey Child Study Team (CST) process.

LDTC services include:

• Educational evaluations and assessments
• Case management support
• Eligibility determination support
• IEP development and review
• Team collaboration and consultation with parents and staff

Our LDTCs work closely with districts to ensure evaluations and recommendations are accurate, timely, and compliant with NJDOE requirements.
