About the Owner

Miriam Skydell, MS, OTR/L is the founder and director of Miriam Skydell and Associates, LLC., which began as a private pediatric therapy clinic in 1993. In 2005 she founded and developed Sensory Bounce® Therapy and JumpTherapy LLC., The only known therapy program in the country that takes place at indoor inflatable bounce and trampoline parks.In 2017, Miriam developed and introduced the concept of School based private Therapy in Bergen County NJ day schools. This approach designates a sensory gym/ therapy room in school in which children who are not classified, but require OT services can be seen during the school day. Providing private therapy in the child's school setting has multiple benefits for the child, teachers and the parent. The agency division was opened as an outgrowth of her private occupational therapy practice, driven by a desire to help more children succeed within the school environment. What began as one clinician’s work with families and schools grew into a trusted agency serving districts across the state. By expanding beyond individual practice to form an agency, Miriam created a structured yet personalized model that allows districts to access experienced therapists while benefiting from direct leadership involvement, consistent oversight, and a deep understanding of school-based special education requirements. Over the past 30 years she has built an extensive professional network and earned the trust and respect of New Jersey Board of Education administrators, as well as leaders of public, private, charter, and preschool programs.

Unlike agencies run solely by administrators, Miriam is a licensed occupational therapist, with decades of firsthand experience evaluating and treating children across a wide range of needs.

Miriam’s background as a practicing clinician informs every aspect of the organization—from therapist selection and supervision to service delivery and collaboration with school teams—ensuring that services are not only compliant, but practical, thoughtful, and effective.
